Last month, the Cleantech Innovate Selection Committee handpicked Aeristech as a finalist for their green innovation showcase, the largest of its kind in the UK. Aeristech Chairman Mike Woodroffe presented at the February event held in the Institute of Mechanical Engineers’s (IMechE) historic Westminster premises. There, he outlined how Aeristech’s control technology allows us to build the world’s most power-dense high-speed variable machine, the fastest accelerating in the category of high-speed and variable-speed.
Originated by partners ecoConnect and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the Cleantech Innovate showcase aims to highlight “cutting-edge technologies” and accelerate growth within the dynamic clean technology market. They believe the UK should be a global force for green innovation and that the next step is endorsing “the absolute best [companies] in their field” through exclusive opportunities. To this end, the first annual Cleantech Innovate showcase brought together groundbreaking technologies and paying industry delegates who included investors, corporate buyers, government agencies and media outlets.
Cleantech Innovate chose pioneering green finalists via a scoring matrix covering four key criteria: impact, innovation, long term vision and viability. Criteria reflected the potential for businesses to implement their technology in the marketplace and companies were selected by an expert panel with backgrounds in technology research, academia, industry and investment. In addition to reducing carbon outputs, experts gave weight to key industry needs, acknowledging innovations that offer low cost green solutions and allow businesses to be technologically and financially competitive. Aeristech is honoured by its selection for the showcase alongside the other exciting companies. Robert Hokin, Chief Executive of organisers ecoConnect and Chair of the Cleantech Innovate Selection Committee, said: “The technologies our judges selected are the cream of UK cleantech and a testament to the breadth of vision existing in this dynamic sector today. They deserve all the support that Government, investors and business can give them to move forward.”
